SCAPA Bluegrass Openings:

The number of available slots, for the next year’s grade level, is as follows:

• 4th grade – 54
• 5th grade – 0   (a current student must leave the school for an opening to occur)
• 6th grade – 2    (for the entire grade level, NOT per arts area)
• 7th grade – 0    (a current student must leave the school for an  opening to occur)
• 8th grade – 0    (a current student must leave the school for an opening to occur)
   

Should an opening occur after the initial January offerings, the SCAPA arts faculty will review the completed auditions and submit the name of the selected student to the Gifted/Talented Office in order to fill the vacancy. Openings may happen at any time prior to the beginning of the school year.

SCAPA Lafayette Openings:

The number of available slots varies each year according to the following variables:

• The number of graduating seniors,
• The number of automatic placements from SCAPA Bluegrass, and
• The number of students who either voluntarily leave the program or who are removed from SCAPA.

The average number of available slots is usually 30 – 35. There are no grade-level specific numbers of available slots. Students in grades 8 – 11 are eligible for all available slots.
